Carbon Diet Challenge

In 2019, we began working to mobilize neighbors to take action through our new Carbon Diet Challenge, inspired by the Resilient Neighborhoods program .

With a kick-off meeting in April of 2019, the Carbon Diet Challenge is a group of Congress Park neighbors focused on learning about, measuring and reducing their collective carbon footprint through simple, everyday actions. Working together, we’ll determine our individual carbon usage using an online carbon calculator, and strategize ways to reduce our own personal footprint! For more information email Liz at lizg313@gmail.com.

2018 Clean Energy for a Clean World: Wind & Solar Fair Summary

Thirty-five people attended the April 7th Wind and Solar Fair sponsored by the Congress Park Neighbors Green Team as part of its series of Earth Month activities.  Attendees heard Geologist/Paleoclimatologist Paul Belanger speak about the status of renewable energy initiatives in Colorado (see his presentation below – note: it’s a large file and takes a bit to load).  A representative from Xcel Energy spoke about the many renewable energy programs and initiatives offered by the utility.  Then representatives from the following renewable energy companies presented information about their services (Arcadia Power, Cam Solar, Clean Energy Collective, Namaste Solar Energy, RGS Energy, and Sunrun). All these vendors have A+ ratings from the Better Business Bureau.  People attending the fair were able to talk directly with vendors about their homes and the types of wind or solar programs best suited to their needs.

Go Solar!!
